- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Although the employees were very friendly and efficient, I can only give this business one star since I had to wait for almost 3 hours. I entered at 8:20. Received a ticket at 8:26, and was not called until almost noon. I was out by 12:05. I heard some people state that the employees should not get a lunch or break just so they could get out faster. I did remind people that it is illegal if the employees do not get a lunch and break. It is not the employees fault that there is not enough help. Apparently, too many people not from Mt Airy go there thinking the wait time will be less, when it is not. Larger DMV's have more people. At 11:30 am, people coming in were told it would be a 3 hour wait. So if you are from Winston-Salem or have a DMV closer to you, then do us Mt Airyians a favor and go to your closest DMV.
